This self-study course offers ten (10) modules that address the learning objectives of increasing composition and/or creativity. Participants may choose topics that are relevant to their own needs for continuing education. Each module is 50 minutes in length and includes a demonstration element. To complete the course, participants must send proof of the demonstration element to the instructor. This can be done via email.
Once all demonstration elements are submitted to the instructor, the participant will receive a link to the course evaluation. The course evaluation must be submitted to complete the course requirements. After the course evaluation is submitted, the participant will receive his/her certificate via email.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will complete demonstration elements (including, but not limited to: theoretical worksheets, therapeutic music experience composition, songwriting, decision trees, and visual aid development) based on concepts of composition and creativity covered by each course module (CBMT Board Certification Domains: 12; 13; 14; 15; 18; 19; 27; 29; 30;3 31; 32; 35; 36; 37; 38; 39; 50; 51)

Prerequisites:
These courses are designed for board certified music therapists. A current CBMT number is required for all therapists seeking credit from the Certification Board for Music Therapists. Participants who do not have a current CBMT number will not earn a certificate.
International participants (not board certified) may complete the course for credit but will receive a CBMT certificate with a letter of explanation of how CMTEs are calculated. www.musictherapyworks.com will NOT offer continuing education credits for other music therapy agencies, credentialing bodies, or associations other than CBMT.

Mary Jane Landaker, MME, MT-BC (Master of Music Education with Certificate in Music Therapy, Music Therapist- Board Certified) is the owner of www.musictherapyworks.com, offering products and webinars for music therapists. She is involved with the Online Conference for Music Therapists and recently retired as a full-time music therapist with persons with developmental and psychiatric concerns.
Course Schedule and Format: Each participant may select the desired number of modules to complete. We offer a minimum of ten (10) modules per CMTE track. Each module includes a lecture, resources, references, and a demonstration element as indicated below. Participants may choose from three (3) modules to ten (10) modules for CMTE credit.
